It was just a usual day at the Amusement Park, people came just to enjoy themselves, but something else happened for people expecting to ride the Windseeker Ride. Something like 20 riders were a short ride on the Windseeker, but they end up dangling 300 feet high for nearly 4 hours. This incident happened in Southern California’s Knott’s Berry amusement park.
Knott’s said in a statement, ”the ride, which lifts fun-seekers high over the park with their legs dangling and spins them in a circle, came to a stop when its security system activated at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.”
“They didn’t tell me that in the brochure,” said Jimmy Garrison, a tourist from Baltimore, Maryland, well he was kinda lucky cause after the long wait, he left the park with a shirt saying, “I SURVIVED THE WINDSEEKER”, which should have included, “AND DANGLED FOR LIKE 4 HOURS!”.
One of the riders who was stuck, name Garrison, also said, “They were on the PA system and they were telling us ‘be patient with us,’ and that sort of thing,” ”I was looking over at the steel cables, they’re about that thick, there’s a whole bunch of them so I know you can’t fall.”
Maintenance workers brought all the riders safely to the ground between 7:30 and 8, long after the park had closed and night had fallen.
