
Apple has just released iOS 6, the sixth major software version of iOS. iOS 6 was announced and previewed as WWDC 2012 in June this year. Features include Passbook, a new Maps application, Facebook integration, FaceTime over cellular, more Siri features, a redesigned app store, and also enhancements to applications such as Mail and Phone.
iOS 6 is compatible with the following devices:
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 4S
- iPhone 5
- iPod touch (4th generation)
- iPod touch (5th generation)
- iPad 2
- The New iPad
To update, open up iTunes, go to your iDevice, and click “update”. You will need iTunes 10.7 installed in order to download and install the new OS. You can also install it over the air via your iDevice.
