Panic, the company behind great Mac applications such as Coda 2 and Unison is back again in the spotlight with some exciting news. The news is broken into several parts.

  1. Updated for 10.8 Mountain Lion – You can now customize the 10.8 system icons. (although the dock is now less customisable)
  2. Free and Unsupported – In short, Panic is unsure about the long term future of changing system icons. Rather than just phasing out the program, they’re giving out the program for free from now on but development has ceased aside from minor updates.
  3. The Iconfactory Takes Over – Panic is handing over CandyBar to the Iconfactory team, so now the future of the program is in its hands. What they’ll do with it has been undecided.

You can download CandyBar 3.3.4 for free here and can activate it with this CandyBar serial number: PPQA-YAMA-E3KP-VHXG-B6AL-L. You can read more about CandyBar here.
